A defamation complaint was on Friday filed in a court in Lucknow by a Samajwadi Party worker against BJP leader L K Advani and three party MPs for charging the SP with attempting to bribe the trio before Tuesday’s Trust vote.
Former corporator Kishori Lal Yadav filed the suit before Special Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate R P Tripathi, who ordered registration of the defamation complaint and fixed August 8 for recording the statement of the complainant.
Yadav, who is also an advocate, in his complaint under section 500 of the IPC (defamation) has alleged that Advani, Ashok Argal, Mahavir Singh Bhagore and Ajjan Singh Gulastey showed wads of currency notes totalling Rs one crore in the Lok Sabha during the trust motion on July 22 to defame Samajwadi Party general secrtary Amar Singh.
Argal, Bhagore and Gulastey had also alleged that the amount was given to them by Amar Singh for abstaining during the vote in the Lok Sabha, according to the complaint.
