DDCA omit Ajay, Nikhil from Ranji squad

New Delhi, October 8: The Delhi and District Cricket Association DDCA senior selectors today decided not to consider last year8217;s skipper and veteran cricketer Ajay Sharma and off-spinner Nikhil Chopra while picking a 20-member squad for the season8217;s Ranji Trophy. Instead, they named the present India wicketkeeper Vijay Dahiya as skipper and left-arm spinner Rahul Sanghvi as his deputy.

The selected players have been asked to attend nets at the Kotla at 2.30 pm from Monday. The meeting was attended by Chetan Chauhan chairman, Madan Lal and Sunil Khanna.

Delhi play their first North Zone league encounter against the Services at the Kotla from October 30.
