
SHIMLA, March 29: Though there has been no report of any loss of life or property from any part of Himachal Pradesh, the government today asked all deputy commissioners to send their reports on the last night8217;s earthquake. Financial Commissioner-cum-Secretary Revenue S.S. Negi said that all deputy commissioners have been advised to send the details to the government,. Sources said cracks have developed in some of the residential buildings in Sirmaur, Shimla and Solan districts.
Bilaspur: Severe tremors were felt at 12.36 a.m. in the entire district. Mild tremors rocked the area again at 1.05 a.m. However, no reports of any kind of damage have been received so far.
Mandi: An earthquake of modest intensity rocked the Mandi region around 12.35 a.m. According to reports received here, walls of some of the houses which had developed cracks during the earthquake last year had widened. No loss of life or property has been reported.
Dharamsala: The Seismological Observatory here, managed by Wadia Institute of Geology, Dehradun, recorded the intensity of the earthquake as 6.8 on the Richer Scale. No loss of life and property has been reported from anywhere, the district administration said.
Sundernagar: Sundernagar and its adjoining areas were rocked at 12.42 a.m. and 1.15 a.m. No loss of life or property has been reported from any part of the sub-division.
Roopnagar: No damage was reported in the city and its surrounding areas. Roopnagar Civil Surgeon Dr Rajinder Singh confirmed that no loss of life or injury was reported at the local civil hospital.
