PANCHKULA, Feb 4: An inquiry into an alleged case of land grabbing by a senior bureaucrat in Bhainsa Tibba village near here has been ordered by Panchkula Panchkula Deputy Commissioner Saroj Siwatch after villagers brought up the matter at a public meeting at the village today.
Villages pointed out that the route to a religious place adjoining their village has been blocked due to illegal occupation of a piece of land. The inquiry will be conducted by the Panchkula SDM.
Villagers also complained about improper functioning and erratic distribution of supplies by the local ration depot.
Residents of the adjoining Saketri village complained of inadequate water supply. They pointed out that out of the two tubewells in the area, one was not functioning properly. They also demanded that a boundary wall be constructed around the primary school and village streets be paved.
Siwatch said that alternate sites for shops in Mansa Devi, which were to be demolished to make way for development works, would be allocated only as per the survey conducted earlier. However, fresh applicants can also contact the HUDA Estate Officer in this regard, she said.
