Dacoits decamp with jewellery

CHENNAI, FEB 15: In a daring act, four dacoits posing as Income-Tax officials entered the house of one Panalal at Purasawalkam here this morning and abducted his 14-year-old son and decamped with the gold jewellery and Rs 50,000 in cash, after threatening the inmates at gunpoint.

Later the dacoits set free the boy. Police said the dacoits, who arrived in a white Ambassador car posing as a raid party of the I-T department, ransacked Pannalal8217;s house. A hunt is on for the dacoits, police added.
