MUMBAI, DECEMBER 16: The Anti Corruption Branch of the CBI today nabbed an officer of Thiruvanathapuram Customs outside the Sahar airport, allegedly with incriminating amounts of cash, after he had disembarked from an Air India flight originating from Thiruvanathapuram.The officer, M N M Pillai, a preventive officer, was found carrying foreign currency equivalent to Rs nine lakhs, Rs 70,000 in Indian currency and 12 bottles of whiskey, informed sources said.The CBI had conducted surprise checks on customs offices of the Thiruvanathapuram airport last month. Sources reveal the CBI did find some cash on Pillai then too. Today's action seems to have been a follow-up of the same. Pillai had completed his tenure back in Kerala. His new posting however, was not known.
