
MUMBAI, JULY 30: Sales of Crown Television has shot up 150 per cent riding on low cost CTVs launched in the recent months. The company, which is in the middle of an massive restructuring exercise, is planning to increase its turnover to Rs 200 crore.
Like Akai, Crown is also concentrating at selling low priced CTVs. The company launched Indias first portable colour TV at a price below Rs 7,000. The last two years have been a period of intensified Ramp;D, new product launches and market development.
Its net sales have gone up by 43 per cent to Rs 100 crore while net profit in the fiscal 1998 has shot by 131 per cent. Companys operating profit was up 351 per cent, says a company statement.
