Crouch benefiting from Capello146;s open approach

Peter Crouch8217;s recall to the England squad for the country8217;s next World Cup qualifiers shows manager Fabio Capello was true to his word when he said he was refreshing the selection policy.

Although Crouch was a regular under the Italian8217;s two immediate predecessors, he established himself under coaches who preferred to pick players who featured regularly in the Champions League. That provided much of the motivation for Crouch8217;s transfer to Liverpool from Southampton in 2005, but the towering striker found himself on the sidelines last season as Reds manager Rafa Benitez preferred Spain forward Fernando Torres up front.

But Capello has said he doesn8217;t care which teams his players are with, so long as they play regularly and are in good form.
