
Three cops suspended
Three constables of Vadodara district rural police were recently suspended on the charges of neglect of duty, the police said. According to District Superintendent of Police rural Shamsher Singh, one of the constables was found sleeping at Pheakua checkpost in Rangpur police station during a surprise check recently, while two others of Kanwat police station had left a police horse unattended. He said departmental action against the three were initiated after preliminary inquiry into the incident by Sub-Divisional police officer of Chotaudepur R D Balad.
Chain snatched
One Jetiben Kantibhai Patel 60, a resident of Vallabh Nagar Society, on Waghodia Road, complained to the Panigate police said that on Monday afternoon, two motorcycle-borne youths approached her and after the pillion rider pulled the gold chain from her neck, the duo sped away on their vehicle. The police have registered a case in this connection and are investigating.
Bag stolen
A bag containing Rs 10,000 in cash was stolen from a car belonging to an industrialist Gajendra Chotelal Jain of Akota on Monday, the police said. According to J P Road police, Jain had got down from his car and had gone to the Alkapuri branch of Bank of Baroda leaving his car in care of his driver. But when the driver went to relieve himself, some unidentified people stole the bag kept on the rear seat of the car, the police added. Investigations are on.
