Vehicle thefts
In separate cases of vehicle theft registered by the police on Monday, four vehicles were stolen from different parts of the city. One Hiteshchandra Ratilal Thakkar of Sarswatinagar, complained to the Fatehgunj police, that his Bajaj Chetak scooter (GJ-6-EE-7483) worth Rs 25,000 was stolen from the compound of his house. In another complaint, Vinodbhai Babubhai Vasava of Bharuch district told police that his Hero Honda motorcycle (GJ-16-E-5426) was stolen from outside Nyaya Mandir. A Sunny moped (GJ-6-HH-4565) worth Rs 2,000 was lifted from outside Kamatibaug and an autorickshaw (GJ-6-V-0-48) worth Rs 40,000 was stolen from Polo Ground parking space, the police said.
Houses burgled
The city police on Monday registered two cases of burglary carried out in different parts of the city on Monday night. According to the police, a chartered accountant’s office in Windsor Plaza commercial complex on R C Dutt Road and a house in Trimurti Society in Fatehgunj area were ransacked by thieves who entered the premises by breaking open the locks. Investigations are on.
Liquor seized
The police seized 119 litres of country liquor worth Rs 2,375 and Indian Made Foreign Liquor worth Rs 150 during raids carried out at different places in the city during the last 24 hours.
