Body found
The Kapodara police have registered a case of accidental death after the dead body of unidentified 35-year-old man was recovered from beside a water tank in the Nana Varachha area. According to the police, Surabhai Panchabhai Bharwad 35, originally from Talaja in Bhavnagar, died of starvation after he was loitering around Varachha area for the past few days. The body has been sent to the New Civil hospital for autopsy, the police said.

Burns death
Seventeen-year-old Vaishali Prakash Munde succumbed to burn injuries late on Saturday night at the Maskati hospital, where she was undergoing treatment since the past five days. The Kapodara police said, she sustained injuries when the stove she was cooking on exploded. She is a resident of Chik Ni vadi area of Nana Varachha, the police said, adding a case under section 174 of the Code of Criminal Procedure has been registered.

Robbed
Two unidentified persons barged into shop no 8, Trimurti Apartments, in the Kamal Park area of Varachha on Saturday night and robbed two occupants of Rs 5000 cash. Shop owner Ratu Ahir in a complaint with the police claimed that Dhiru alias Bhana Ahir and Manu jairam Ahir barged into his shop and looted him of Rs 4,500 cash and his companion Manga Ahir of Rs 500 at knife point. While a case under IPC 392 and 114 of the IPC has been registered, no arrests have been made, the police stated.

Cash stolen
Vadodara: Vikramsinh Ganpatsinh Mahida, a resident of Ashok Society, has complained to the Fatehgunj police that cash and valuables worth Rs 7,850 were stolen from his house on Saturday night. He said thieves barged into his house from the rear door, which was accidentally left open on that night. A case had been registered, the police said, adding investigations were on.
