
Dies of burns
Parbhu Rathod, a resident of Gangadhara village of Palsana taluka, died on Monday due to burns sustained a week ago, the district police said. According to the police, the deceased was sitting beside a kerosene stove on November 15, when it exploded, burning him seriously. The police has registered a case under section 174 of the CrP.
House-break
Unidentified persons broke into a locked house in the Kim area during the night and decamped with gold and silver ornaments along with cash worth Rs 65,000, the Olpad police stated. Mukesh Patel of 13, Sona Roopa Society, Kim told the police that thieves broke into his locked house and stole a number of gold and silver ornaments alongwith Rs 14,000 cash, all kept in a cupboard inside the bedroom. The police have registered a case under IPC 380 and 454 and are investigating further.
Vehicles stolen
A jeep and a motorcycle have been reported stolen in separate cases of vehicle thefts registered in the Rander and Kapodara police stations on Monday. Kaushik Patel of Awal Apartments, Tadwadi, told the police that his Mahindra jeep GJ-7-H-4295 was stolen between 1 am and 7 am on Monday. In another case, a Hero Honda motorcycle GJ-6-CC-9044 has been reported stolen from the road opposite A B Dharukawala Compound, Varachha. Prafful Sawaliya, the owner, lodged a complaint in the Kapodara police station. Cases under IPC 379 have been registered and further investigations are on, the police added.
Man dead
Vadodara: An unidentified man died after he was hit by the speeding Mumbai-Ahmedabad 2901 Dn train under the Bajwa railway overbridge in wee hours of Sunday morning. According to Government Railway Police, the man was probably trying to cross the tracks at around 5.15 am when the accident took place. His body has been kept in SSG Hospital8217;s morgue for identification.
