Minor boy drowns
Fourteen-year-old Gaurang Pratap Desai, a resident of Takshashila Apartments on the Bhatar Road, drowned late on Monday evening. According to a case registered in the Umra police station, the boy was swimming at the Royal Park swimming pool, when he drowned. He was rushed to the Mission hospital at Athwa Lines, where he was declared dead at around 6 pm. A case of accidental death under CrPC 174 has been registered.

Burns death
One Madhuri Mohan Zani 28, residing at Meghdhanush Apartments, Rander died of burn injuries at the Mahavir Hospital on Monday night. Zani was admitted earlier in the day with severe burn injuries, which she sustained when the LPG cylinder in her house leaked, resulting in a fire, the Rander police said. A case under section 174 of the Code of Criminal Procedure has been registered.

Snake bite
One Arjun Thakore Rathod, 22, a manual labourer died of a snake bite on Monday night in Sardar Hospital, Bardoli. The Bardoli police said Rathod was lifting pipes in one Mahendra Kalu Patel8217;s field in Haripura village when a snake bit him on his hand. He was rushed to the hospital, where he died a few hours later.

Mangoes stolen
The Mahuva police of the district have registered a case of theft against three persons for stealing 60 kg of mangoes from trees in Baartaad village of Mahuva. In a complaint, Mohan Patel, the owner of the trees, stated that one Mukesh, Ashok Naika and Ramesh Naika stole the mangoes worth more than Rs 1000 from his trees. A case of theft under IPC 379 and 114 has been registered.
