
Man dead
An unidentified person, who was found lying in an unconscious state in a looms unit near Taas Ni Waadi area in Varachha was declared dead at the New Civil hospital, where he was shifted to on Monday morning. A case under CrPC 174 has been registered at the police station.
Cash stolen
Cash of Rs 30,000 along with other valuables were stolen from a house in Udhna area on Monday morning, the police said. According to a complaint filed by one Kankuben Ratanlal Jain, a resident of Ramlaxman Apartments in Udhna, unidentified people entered the house and escaped with Rs 30,000 in cash. No arrests have been made by the police as yet and no suspects have been named by the complainant.
Woman injured
A lone passenger travelling in an autorickshaw sustained severe head injuries when the vehicle overturned near the electric substation in Udhna. Nasima Banu Shabbir Ahmed is stated to have suffered head injuries when the rickshaw overturned. The unidentified driver of the autorickshaw in question is absconding.
Burns death
Vadodara: One Nita Gohil, a housewife staying in Madhavpark Society, Laxmipura, succumbed to the burns in a private hospital in Kothi on Friday evening, the police said. Police said she had sustained burns on face and hands while cooking at her residence on Thursday. She was earlier admitted to the SSG Hospital but shifted to private hospital for further treatment.
Cheating case
In a complaint lodged with the city police station, Laxmandas Amlani, a resident of a society on the Warasia Ring Road, stated that he was duped to the tune of Rs 2,21,000. The complaint stated that when the complainant8217;s son went to stay in a house in Akashdarshan Apartment in Kakkadpitha, which Amlani had purchased from one Hasmukh Soni of Warasia Ring Road, he found others staying in the house. Amlani in his complaint further stated that the house was purchased on installments and the possession was given on September 9, 1996 and his son went to stay there on September 16, 1998.
A case has been registered against Kiritkumar Soni, Hasmukh Soni, Nandal Soni, Chandrika Bhatt and Vinubhai Bhatt.
