Woman kills herself
One Daksha Vijay Rathod, a married woman residing in Vidhaatanagar area of Puna village on the outskirts of the city, committed suicide by hanging herself to the ceiling fan late on Tuesday, the police said. The Kapodara police have registered a case under under section 174 of the CrPC and have initiated interogations.

Case registered
The Kapodara police registered a case on Wednesday evening, after a guard posted at the Puna Octroi lodged a complaint that he had been wrongfully restrained, threatened and prevented from doing his duty by a truck driver on Wednesday afternoon. According to Natwar Patel, working at the octroi post, he was on duty, when a truck driver did not stop at the post while entering the city. He chased him and managed to track down the vehicle at Sahara Darwaja. Patel however told the police that while escorting the truck back to the octroi post, the driver rode past it. Interestingly, Patel could not manage to recollect the registration number of the truck.

Missing
A 13-YEAR-old boy, Babu Mathu Ahir, residing at plot no 50 of Bhagirathnagar area of Lambe Hamnuman Road is missing since Monday evening, a case registered in the Varachha police station said. According to a complaint lodged by the boy8217;s parents, he left home without informing anyone and had not returned since. The wheatish complexioned boy is four-feet five-inches tall and was wearing a cream shirt when last seen.

Arrested
One Haider Shamsuddin Saiyed, a resident of Bhindi Bazaar, Begumpura, was arrested by the Mahidharpura police on Wednesday. Three car tapes worth around Rs 10,000 along with a speaker were recovered from his possession, the police said. Haider is said to have been involved in a number of thefts in and out of the city and would be produced before a magistrate on Thursday.
