10 arrested under PASA
City police arrested 10 persons under PASA for bootlegging. Those arrested have been sent to different jails in the State. Arrests were made after Crime Branch officials collected information on persons engaged in smuggling of liquor from other States.

Break-in
An unidentified person broke into a house in Krishnanagar society in Chandlodia and decamped with jewellery, clothes and cash worth Rs 26,300. The incident occured some time between 2.30 and 6 am on Monday, Girijashankar Kalidas Tapodhan has stated in a complaint lodged at Sola High Court police station.

Man robbed
Saraspur resident Jagubhai Shantilal Bhavsar was robbed of gold jewellery and cash worth Rs 24,100 when some unidentified person opened his shoulder bag and lifted the valuables. The incident occured when he was going from Pankor Naka to Piramsha Roza on Monday afternoon. Jagubhai has lodged a complaint at Karanj police station.

Drivers fined
City police on Monday collected fines from 567 drivers for various traffic related offences. Police towed away 113 vehicles causing obstruction to traffic and 13 drivers were fined for not carrying Pollution Under Control certificate. Cases were also registered against other 868 drivers for different offences.

Liquor seized
City police on Monday registered eight cases under the Prohibition Act and arrested eight persons and seized 104 litres of liquor. Police also registered four cases and arrested 12 persons under the Gambling Act. Another 34 persons have been arrested as precautionary measure.
