
Cashier kidnapped
A 30-year-old man Mukesh Gupta was reportedly kidnapped in Shakkarpur area in east Delhi on Thursday night. He worked as a cashier with Brij Gautam, who runs a newsprint business in Shakkarpur. According to the police, Brij Gautam had reportedly received newsprint material worth Rs 12 lakh from Bawari mills in Muzaffarnagar about 18 months ago and was delaying payment. Whenever the mill staff came to Gautam, he would refuse and call up cops complaining that some ruffians were bothering him in office. The mill staff visited Gautam yesterday and demanded the payment. Gautam apparently gave them a number of excuses. Tired of being shown the door each time, they kidnapped his cashier Mukesh Gupta who had received the raw material. A case has been registered.
Trader stabbed to death
A businessman was stabbed to death by four men in the Rajnagar Colony, Loni. Three men based in Niti Nagar, Delhi, have been named as suspects in the FIR lodged by the brother of the deceased who reportedly witnessed the murder. Sushil Kumar, 25, was on his way back home with his brother Manoj after shutting his shop around 8.15 on Thurday evening when they were accosted.
Watchman killed in Noida
A watchman of a factory in Noida phase II was stabbed to death Thursday night in the factory premises. Mangeram, 40, was working as a watchman in the factory, D 160, for the last five years. He was found dead in the guard room of the factory on Friday morning. An employee of the factory informed police. A bottle of liqour has been recovered from the guard room. Police believe that the murderer was known to Mangeram.
Indian Airlines captain arrested
The Greater Kailash police on Friday arrested a captain in the Indian Airlines after a non-bailable warrant NBW was issued against him. The NBW was issued by Metropolitan Magistrate R.K. Chauhan under section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, which makes it a criminal offence to issue cheques that bounce.
SI held for graft
A Delhi police Sub-Inspector was arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation CBI for allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 1,000 from a complainant. Sub-Inspector Subhash Vats, posted at Gokulpuri police station, was caught red-handed while taking the money from the complainant on Thursday. A senior CBI official said that Vats had threatened to register false cases against the complainant unless he gave him Rs 6,000, of which Rs 5,000 was to be paid next Sunday.
