
Firm booked in cheating case
The EOW of the city police have registered a case against a New Delhi-based firm 8212; Okara Agro Industry 8212; for allegedly cheating the complainant 8212; Swaran Singh and others of Rs 18 lakh. Police sources said that Singh had alleged that he had invested nearly Rs 2.5 lakh but when the deposit matured the company8217;s branch office was found closed.
Man caught stealing clothes
A Dadumajra resident, Juggal Kishore, was arrested while stealing clothes from a house in Sector 37.
Scooter recovered
The city police have arrested a resident of Ropar district, Devinder Singh, and recovered a stolen scooter CH-01-D-5530 from him. The scooter was stolen from PGI parking area on February 10.
Four booked
The police have booked four persons 8211; Shri Nath, Mohinder Kumar and Surinder Kumar of Maloya Colony, and Ram Chander of Dhanas 8212; for allegedly beating up a colony resident, Shiv Bahadur Yadav. The complainant was injured and was sent for medical examination to the Sector 16 Government Hospital. No arrests have been made so far.
