Man falls from roof, dies
A 35-year-old man reportedly fell of the roof from Sector 32 hospital yesterday and died. Ruling out any foul play, the police said the deceased Kedar Nath apparently fell accidentally. He was under depression and was being treated at the hospital. Kedar Nath was employed with the Western Command and resided in Sector 32 here.

PGI resident cheated
PGI colony resident Surinder Singh reported to the police that he had been cheated by Sukhdev Singh and Rup Rai of Sector 47 who allegedly promised to send him abroad and took money from him. The police have registered a case under section 420 IPC and 24 Immigration Act.

Computer stolen from school
Shivalik Public School8217;s Administrative Officer J.S. Sahani has reported that a computer and some parts of a computer have been stolen from the school premises in Sector 41. A case has been registered.

PCO owner booked
The city police today booked a PCO owner in Rain Basera for allegedly giving fake receipts of trunk calls to a Sector 46 resident, Munish Chander. The case has been registered under section 406, 420, 467, 468 and 471 of the IPC.

Fire in Khuda Ali Sher village
A fire was reported in a house in Khuda Ali Sher village here this morning. Fire tenders were rushed to the spot but police said that residents had controlled the fire by then. No loss to life or property was reported.

Man held for abetting suicide
The city police today arrested a Sector 31 resident Deepak for allegedly abetting suicide of an 18-year-old girl in his neighbourhood. She alleged that he used to harass her by blaming her for having an illicit relationship. Deepak8217;s mother has already been arrested under section 306 and 34 of IPC.

Sec 24 resident hit by car
Sector 24 resident Diwan Chander was reportedly hit by a car near the PGI Main Gate. In a separate accident, Sector 25 resident Mamta Kohli was reportedly hit by a Maruti car in Sector 14. The two have been admitted to the PGI.

Man commits suicide
A resident of Sector 15 of Panchkula, Rakesh Kumar, died yesterday after he reportedly consumed a poisonous substance. Police are pursuing the matter in accordance with Section 174 of the Criminal Procedure Code.

2 hurt in mishaps
Two persons have been injured in separate incidents in Panchkula over the past 24 hours. Ram Dev Shah, hailing from Bihar, reportedly sustained serious injuries after his motorcycle was knocked down by a tractor near the Gurukul School in Old Panchkula. Police have registered a case against the tractor driver, Ram Niwas, also a resident of Bihar. In another case, Pinjore resident Roop Lal has lodged a complaint that he was hit by a rashly driven car bearing a Haryana registration number. A case has been registered.

Accident near KC
An accident occurred between an Esteem car and an Ambassador car here on Thursday night in which both the cars were damaged near Sector 17 K.C. Cinema. Police sources said nobody was injured in the accident.
