Scooterist hit
A scooterist, Surinder Kumar, was injured after he was hit by a Maruti car bearing a Punjab registration number, near the PGI taxi stand. The car sped away, while the scooterist, a resident of Phase-I, S.A.S. Nagar, has been admitted to the hospital. Police have registered a case and further investigations in the matter are on.

Assault alleged
Sector 37 resident Parveen Kumar has lodged a complaint that he was assaulted by Janak Raj and his brother-in-law, both residents of the same sector. Police have registered a case for voluntarily causing grievous hurt against the duo and are investigating into the matter.

Vehicles stolen
The theft of a blue Maruti car DL-1C-B-4755 was reported by Sector 22 resident Prem Kumar from outside his residence. A case has been registered by the police and investigations are on. In another incident, Sector 15 resident J.P. Singh has reported that his scooter BPI 3498 has been stolen. Police have registered a case and are investigating into the matter.

Television theft
A colour television was stolen from the house of Mahavir Prasad, a resident of Sector 7, Panchkula, yesterday. According to the police, the thief entered the house after breaking a window and took away some clothes and TV set. A case has been registered under Section 457 and 380 of the IPC.
