45-year-old widow found dead in Okhla

A love triangle possibly lead to the brutal murder of a 45-year-old widow in the Okhla area of south district on Saturday. The victim, Charanjit Kaur, had moved to Delhi from Punjab five years ago after losing her husband. About three years back she developed an intimate relationship with Jasjit Singh of Kalkaji who was married with children.

Jasjit reportedly often stayed with Charanjit in her flat in Pul Prahaldpur DDA flat. According to Jasjit8217;s statement, when he reached her flat he found the door bolted from inside. On breaking the door he found Kaur8217;s body with stab wounds. Police suspect the involvement of another lover in the case.

Woman commits suicide in East Delhi

A 22-year-old woman, Jivy, allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling of her house yesterday.

Jivy got married to Tulsi 26 16 months ago and was living in a JJ colony, Bhikam Singh, in East Delhi. Her in-laws and two sisters-in-law were also staying in the same house.

According to the police, Tulsi woke up at 1 a.m. today and found his wife8217;s body hanging from the ceiling of the first floor of the house. Jivy and Tulsi were in the business of exchanging new steel utensils for old clothes. They both hailed from Gujarat.

SDM Vivek Vihar has initiated an inquiry into the incident as it occurred within seven years of their marriage. A case has been registered under section 176 CrPC.

Inter-state gang arrested

The Patel Nagar police nabbed an inter-state gang allegedly involved in several dacoities in Delhi8217;s industrial enclave on Friday. The gangsters were caught while hatching a plot.

The Patel Nagar police station received a message that a group of nine men were moving about in a park suspiciously. A crack team was formed to nab the suspects.

When the team arrived one of the goons tried to fire at them, but the trigger did not work. During the investigations the gangsters revealed that they were planning a dacoity in the nearby factory.

Two country-made pistols, three iron rods, two knives and two daggers were recovered from them.

The gang mainly looted plastic granules from manufacturing units and used a Tata 407 mini truck to dump the goods. Their modus operandi was to first conduct a survey during the day time for a suitable target where the guards could be easily overpowered.

At night they raided the unit and often locked the guards in a room and decamped with the booty. Recently they had looted plastic granules and office equipment, including chairs and typewriters, from Samaipur Badli, Okhla, Wazirpur and Nangloi industrial area and sold them off to Ramesh Kumar, Shamim and Abid Hussain, who dealt with stolen goods. They too have been arrested.
