MUMBAI, August 13: Suburban rail services on the Central Railway were disrupted for more than four hours on Thursday morning after commuters staged a rail roko at Titwala. A local connecting Asangaon and Kalyan which was supposed to reach Titwala at 6.25 am rolled into the station more than 45 minutes late. Angered by the delay, commuters at Titwala staged an impromptu rail roko at the station. They also voiced a long-standing demand for the introduction of a 6.30 am local to Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus from Titwala.
The agitation was called off after authorities called representatives of the passengers8217; association for talks. Services were resumed by 10.30 am.
