FARIDABAD, April 11: Four policemen, including the Station House Officer of Hodal Police Station, were transferred to the police lines yesterday morning, following allegations that someone from the police station was repeatedly threatening a resident over the telephone.

The Faridabad resident had submitted a complaint to senior police officials, about the threats he was receiving over the telephone. A request was sent to the telecommunication department to tap the complainant’s telephone and locate the number from where the threatening calls were made.

Sources said that after the calls were traced to Hodal Police Station, SHO Tota Ram, Assistant Sub-Inspector Chand Singh, and constables Rohtash and Dharam were transferred to the police lines.

Investigations are still on to ascertain who — among the four policemen transferred actually made the telephone calls.

The Deputy Superintendent of Police (Hodal), however, denied that the policemen were transferred because of their possible involvement inthreatening the Faridabad resident. He claimed that the transfers were part of a routine order.

All the four policemen had reportedly completed their tenure at Hodal police station, and their transfer orders were due.

Sources added that ASI Chand Singh and constable Rohtas were also facing an inquiry for misusing a vehicle which was seized along with an illegal consignment of liquor some time ago.

The two police men were reportedly caught using the vehicle for personal work on several occasions.
