Cops ordered: Only white hoods from now

The circular, dated October 8, asks officials to 8220;strictly ensure that cloth wrapped around the faces of arrested persons while taking to court and the manner in which it is tied should not be of a type or fashion which has regional or communal features8221;.

Also, the circular says that 8220;only white-colour cloth should be used in future in an innocuous manner so as not to offend any community in particular.8221;

Several organisations and Muslim groups had accused Delhi Police of deliberately using red-and-white Arab scarves to cover the faces of Delhi bast suspects8212;all Muslims. However, Delhi police had claimed that it was a coincidence and they did not have any intentions to hurt the sentiments of any community.
