18-yr-old woman commits suicide in Preet Vihar
An 18-year-old woman reportedly hung herself to death last Tuesday at her East Laxmi Market, Preet Vihar shanty. According to the police, she had been depressed since the demise of her husband Sonu, whom she married 7 months ago following a love affair. Further investigations into the case are on.
250 cartons of liquor seized in Dabri
The South-West district Special Staff raided and seized 250 cartons of liquor from a Mahavir Enclave, Dabri, house yesterday. These reportedly consisted of 190 crates of rum and 10 of whiskey containing 12 bottles each and another 50 whiskey crates containing 48 quarter-bottles each. According to the police, no arrests were made since the the bootleggers managed to get away.
Youth’s body recovered from Yamuna
Police have recovered the body of Ramesh Kumar, 22, resident of Kailash Puri, from the Yamuna near Ram Ghat. Ramesh was reported drowned yesterday while he was taking a dip in Yamuna on the occasion of Murti Visarjan.
