CHANDIGARH, April 29: A city police Constable was allegedly beaten up outside a Sector 35 hotel by two persons here, last night. The police have arrested both the accused.
Amrik Singh, a Chandigarh Police Constable, was allegedly roughed up by Arun Kumar and Sandeep of Sector 21 and Sector 8, respectively. According to police sources, the Constable had gone to the hotel after receiving a complaint that the two accused were indulging in hooliganism by throwing chairs. When he tried to pacify them, they allegedly turned on him and beat him up.
The two were arrested for assaulting a policeman on duty under Sections 332, 353 and 334 of the Indian Penal Code.
