
CHENNAI, March 12: The Centre is considering amendments to the Consumer Protection Act, 1986 to plug the legal loop-holes and make it more effective, said Union secretary to Department of Consumer Affairs K Srinivasan. After inaugurating the Consumer Information Centre the second int he country and first in the state sponsored by the Department of Consumer Affairs, to be run by the SMN Consumer Protection Council, he said has held consultation with consumer activitists and group regarding the pendency of cases and protection to the consumers.
