Congress on Saturday continued to adopt a cautious approach on the developments in Karnataka in the wake of the BJP withdrawing support to the H D Kumaraswamy government, saying that it was awaiting formal action by the saffron party.

AICC General Secretary Prithviraj Chavan said that the party would take a decision in this regard only after the leader of BJP Legislature party meets the Governor and formally withdraws support from the government.

While the two coalition partners were locked in the power transfer battle, the Congress had on Friday night demanded a trial of strength in the assembly within two days to prevent horse trading.
