Following the clean chit given by the Delhi High Court to Rajiv Gandhi in the Bofors case, the Congress today demanded that BJP members, 8216;8216;who were involved in the campaign8217;8217;, should apologise to the Gandhi family.

An emotional party spokesperson Anand Sharma said: 8216;8216;As a result of the Bofors campaign, Congress lost power, Rajiv Gandhi8217;s security cover was reduced and he lost his life.8217;8217;

8216;8216;He and his family were tormented and now there can be no compensation. But all those who have levelled personal charges should apologise to his family,8217;8217; he added.

8216;8216;The day before, I had demanded that the Prime Minister apologise for dragging Rajiv Gandhi8217;s name into the case after his death,8217;8217; Sharma said, adding that 8216;8216;it is his vision because of which the BJP is now claiming that India is shining.8217;8217;

Reacting to former PM V.P. Singh8217;s claim today that he had never levelled personal charges against Rajiv Gandhi, Sharma said: 8216;8216;I cannot comment on that.8217;8217;
