With the number of HIV/AIDS affected people rapidly increasing in the country, an advertisement campaign has been launched under the ongoing condom normalisation project to make the male contraceptive more acceptable and protect the masses from the global pandemic.

The advertisement, featuring mobile ringtone 8216;condom a cappella8217;, is produced by the BBC World Service Trust and funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

The National AIDS is also using the ad, with tagline 8220;Jo Samjha Wohi Sikander8221; the one who understands is a winner, to promote condom.

Speaking about the unique initiative, Creative Director of the BBC World Service Trust, Radharani Mitra said, 8220;Ringtones have become such personal statements that a specially created condom ringtone seemed just the right vehicle to define its user as a sensible person.8221;

The original ringtone can be downloaded in India by SMSing 8220;CONDOM8221; to 5676787 or from condomcondom.org.
