After two days in police remand, the accused in the Command Hospital rape case were produced in the district courts on Thursday. The two were remanded in judicial custody today after the police did not seek extension of their remand. The duo, Naik Hottam Singh and Naik Iftekhar Khan, were arrested on Tuesday after a
39-year-old woman alleged that she was raped in the hospital on Saturday.
In her complaint to the Panchkula police, the victim said Naik Hottam Singh had told her that the rape had been videographed by one Raj and if she disclosed the details to anyone, the tape would be made public.
The Panchkula police, however, during the course of their investigations found there is no person named ‘Raj’ involved in the case.
Naik Hottam Singh (35) is a native of Bhind Morana in Madhya Pradesh and Naik Iftekhar Khan (40) is from Bhabhua region of Bihar.
The two of them were staying alone in the city while their families are in their hometowns.
