College mourns Minal146;s death

Minal8217;s cousin Jayesh Panchal said, 8220;She always wanted to settle in Mumbai and use all the knowledge she would have gained in the United States for the betterment of the people.8221; The US Consul General, who was also present at the meeting, recollecting Minal clearly, said, 8220;I remember Minal approaching me for a student visa a year back. Not only was she excited about going to a foreign land, but was equally excited at the prospect of coming back to India with her learning.8221;

In the memory of a brilliant upcoming architect who possessed a vision, zeal and the wit to conquer that vision, Dr Akhar announced an annual 8216;Architect Minal Panchal Gold Medal8217; to be awarded to the brightest architect of the Rizvi College of Architecture.

Principal of the college Akhtar Chauhan said, 8220;Her design thesis, in the final year, based on an ideal environment for children is so brilliant that in her memory, I request the civic authorities to mould it into reality,8221; he said.

Elizabeth Kauffman, Director of the United States Information Centre, Mumbai, agreed, 8220;I had a chance to look at Minal8217;s thesis and could not help admiring her wisdom.8221;
