
AHMEDABAD, SEPT 14: The Inspectorate of Factories has ordered closure of three units of Meghamani Industries Limited, after two persons had died in an explosion at its Sanand unit on September 6. Authorities have ordered closure until preventive measures against further risks are worked out.
The inspectorate will hold a meeting on Wednesday to discuss the outcome of investigations in the accident. The company manufactures ortho phenyl diamine, a pesticide produced by reduction of ortho nitro aniline. Meghamani Industries runs three parallel units out of which the Sanand unit was closed after the accident. 8220;The inspectorate has ordered closure of the other two plants also as punitive action,8221; Chief Inspector of Factories B M Mehta said on Tuesday.
