Crash landing
Not only was he camera shy, he refused to go on record. But the people and the scribes did not mind as this was the first time a leopard had come visiting. And the scaremeter had its needle firmly in favour of the leopard who seemed more scared than the people gathered to check out their strange guest. But the police officials were the best. Usually used to dealing with the two-legged variety, they were flummoxed, to say the least. Flummoxed and armed, even the senior ones who usually carry a stick around had their personal small arms. Though what good a small handgun would be against a full-grown leopard weighing almost 70 kgs is anybody8217;s guess. In the end as the blighter came crashing down, the officials heaved a sigh of relief more concerned about their guest8217;s welfare than their own. A commendable effort by the forest department officials.Calling women over 40

A must for women on the threshold of 40!
A whole play IT8217;s a play with a difference. An adaptation of four seemingly unconnected pieces to make one Whole. Yes, we are talking about the Whole in the Head, a play enacted by Naseeruddin Shah and Mahabanoo Kotwal. The play relates the story of four characters, all extracts from different literary pieces and all screaming reality. What binds these four characters together? Mahabanoo Kotwal explains,8220;Each character is dysfunctional on the surface but underneath it all they are more sane than any other person.8221;

That also explains the title. Virginia Corpolloti is a character who reflects on the death of her husband, a mafia don, is played by Mahabanoo. Then there8217;s Naz, adapted from the literary piece Golgotha, who has delusions of being God and makes one think about what would happen if God were to go on strike. The next character Elie, is a holocaust survivor and in this excerpt describes a train ride to a concentration camp with his dying father. 8220;The holocaust is not a thing of the past. There are minor holocausts happening even now and hence this character is something that every individual can relate to,8221;says Mahabanoo. Teddy, the last character, shares his experience with his outer space chums at a shopping mall, at a concert and has the audience in splits. The play ends with Naseer8217;s Take Time Out, written and composed by Maya Angelou and that is exactly what the play is planning to achieve 8212; make people think about things.

Pat on Manjula8217;s back
Ratna Khemani, well-known for her personality development classes, has been encouraging young individuals with courage and talent. On Friday, she felicitated Manjula Shetty, the 19-year-old student of SNDT College, by presenting her with a memento and Rs 500 for her bravery. Manjula was in the news for handing over a chain-snatcher to the cops, after she chased and caught him showing much perseverance and presence of mind. Shetty8217;s daring deserved an award, as chain-snatching incidents occur frequently and the thieves must be booked for criminal offences at any cost.
