
Nature8217;s triumph
Ace photographer Suresh Narayanan8217;s lens captures memorable moments of nature in an exhibition at the St. Thomas Public School, Khadki. The exhibition is on just for a day 8211; January 26. 8220;It is meant for children, so that they appreciate the beauty of nature,8221; says Narayanan, whose 50 frames dwell on the trees, insects, birds and animals more often than on the homo sapiens. For people with a yen for photography, this is one exhibition not to be missed.
Purposeful reunion
Homecoming time for St Josephites. The former students of this school are meeting on January 26, and not just for a fun-filled reunion. On the agenda is a career guidance session for the Std. X girls. For this, former students now pursuing different careers have been invited to talk about the triumphs and tribulations of their particular profession, and help the still-at-school youngsters know about different careers. Back to school, and ahead, too.
Indian itinerary
Incongruous as it may sound, there8217;s no escaping the fact that Indian themes are becoming increasingly popular at 10 Downing Street. And with Republic Day around the corner, January 25 will see the Thums Up Dhamaal Masti Nite here. All guests are expected to be attired in Indian costumes like lehengas, dhotis or saris, and the music will comprise Hindi numbers or then English numbers by Indian artists. The decor will also carry forward the theme 8211; the place will done up in dupattas, matkas and puppets! Here8217;s an opportunity to boogey to Gabbar Remix and feel patriotic at the same time.
Her corner
This is for the woman of today. An extensive exhibition called Woman 8217;99 unfolded at the Ladies8217; Club on January 21. Ending on January 24, on display is a range of items 8211; personal and household 8211; that can be of some use to women. Garments, cosmetics, accessories, household items, the latest electronic gizmos, communication gadgets8230; all this to choose from. It8217;s all here for her 8211; to be bought, packed and taken away!
Bamp;B blues
Batstage with Bacardi, in association with Coca-Cola, will feature Grooveyard, a band playing a mix of blues and funk, in the city. The performance will take place at Jazz Garden, ABC Farms, on January 23. The show is scheduled to start at 8.30 p.m and is expected to carry on till midnight. Reservations have to be made in advance.
