Here8217;s a novel way of celebrating one8217;s 25th programme. Survihar, a city-based music organisation, will hold its 25th programme on December 6. The programme will feature recorded songs of 25 music directors, 25 lyricists and 25 singers for a total of 25 songs. Says Prakash Kamat, founder of the organisation, 8220;I have deliberately chosen less-known lyricists like Ishwar Chandra Kapoor and Aziz Kashmiri and music directors like C. Arjun and Neenoo Majumdar so that the Pune audience gets to hear something different8221;.

The highlight of the programme is one of Lata Mangeshkar8217;s lesser-known film songs. Members of the audience who can guess the name of the music director and the lyricist will be given a special prize. The programme will be held at the Fergusson College Amphitheatre.

If you wannabe a model8230;
This one8217;s for wannabe models. Venus Models Incorporated, a model promotion agency, is going to hold a 10-day modelling workshop, starting today, at Rendezvous Dutch Palace. 8220;The workshop is geared to give tips to aspiring models about walking the ramp, styling, make-up, grooming and other related skills at a cost of Rs. 2,500,8221; says proprietor Suraj Pardesi. Model and choreographer Anahita Shroff, model Heena Madhumal and photographers Bunty and Prashant will train the participants. On the concluding day of the workshop, Pardesi plans to hold a seminar on modelling and promotional activities. So all those with an inclination for the ramp need to catwalk to the venue and register themselves.

Pune through the palette
Chaitali Kulkarni and Shubhangi Godse, two young students of the SNDT8217;s fine arts course, will be putting up their maiden exhibition at the Balgandharva Kala Dalan. Says the enthusiastic duo, 8220;For the past two years, we have been visiting various scenic spots of the city like the University campus, Pataleshwar caves, Vitthalwadi, the environs of Parvati and the Agriculture College to paint these landscapes on the spot.8221; The two-day exhibition starts on December 6.

Twin peaks
The latest offering from Spic Macay, as part of its Lec-Dem lecture-cum-demonstration series, is a jugalbandi programme featuring sitar maestro Padamshri Ustad Shahid Parvez and samvadini player Padmashri Pandit Manohar Chimote. The talented and much-acclaimed duo will share the stage at the S.P. College on December 9 between 4.30 and 6.30 p.m. With the society8217;s raison d8217;etre being to bring the younger generation closer to their culture and inculcate in them an appreciation of the arts, the jugalbandi should just take it one step closer to their objective.
