PCMC areas suffer power cut for 18 hrs
Several parts of Pimpri-Chinchwad suffered a power cut for as many as 18 hours due to a 8220;fault in the MSEB main line8221; at Bhosari.

Residents in Phugewadi, Kundannagar, Kasarwadi, Nashik Phata, Shankarwadi, Vallabhnagar, Pimprigaon and Bhosari went without the supply which was affected the moment heavy rain lashed the township around 6 p.m. on Wednesday. The power supply was restored only around 12.30 p.m. on Thursday.

MSEB sources at its Kharalwadi office said the supply was affected due to a fault which developed in the main line at CIRT following heavy showers.Residents in Chinchwad and Kasarwadi complained that for last four days they have suffered power failure for as many 40 hours. However, MSEB sources put the blame on PCMC underground cable lines. They said MSEB is not responsible for it.

In Pune, several areas including Kothrud, Dhankawadi, Bibwewadi, Parvati, continued to reel under the load-shedding. The residents hoped that it was the last day of power cut as the MSEB has promised to reduce the load-sheding for the World Cup beginning May 14.
