NEW DELHI, April 19: Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) overcame a spirited challenge from Delhi Administration to beat them by a solitary goal margin and salvage full points in the BR Ambedkar football tournament at the Thyagraj Nagar Sports Complex here on Monday.

The well-knit CISF were superb in the midfield but lacked finishing as their strikers fumbled at the crucial juncture. The story was no different in the Delhi Administration camp as the side missed at least half a dozen chances.

After barren first half, CISF struck the all important goal in the 15th minutes of the later session when Mohd. Arif converted a pass advanced by Dinesh Kumar.

Earlier, in another match, a fine brace by striker Govind Kanojia helped Punjab National Bank prevail over Bank of India. With this victory PNB have improved their chances for the last four grade as they have collected four points from two outings.

Northern Railway failed to turn up for the second match against ESIC. Their entry in the tournament has been scratched from the tournament and their remaining matches against OBC, FCI (Hq.) and Delhi Admn have been cancelled.

Later FCI (NZ) trounced Delhi Audit 3-0 after leading by a solitary goal at the interval. Mehtab opened the account for FCI (NZ) in the 13th minute of initial session while TB Bisht and B.S. Rawat completed the tally in the later half.
