Christians meet Badal

KHARAR, Jan 8: A delegation of Christians led by the president of the Christians Front Munabbar Masih, who is also a member of Punjab State Service Selection Board, called upon Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal and drew his attention towards the recent attacks made on churches and Christian schools in Gujarat.

According to information received here today, a memorandum submitted to the Chief Minister by the delegation sought Badal8217;s intervention to stop these attacks. Though the number of Christians residing in the country is low, their contribution to education and health services was comparatively high, the memorandum said.

CM thanked: The MLAs of Kharar and Morinda, Daljit Kaur and Ravi Inder Singh respectively and the civic body chiefs as well as municipal councillors of Kharar, Kurali, Roopnagar and Morinda have welcomed the announcement of the Chief Minister to give special grants of Rs 25 lakh each to the their Municipal Councils for development works.
