PANCHKULA, NOV 21: Yavanika open-air theatre was packed for the annual cultural programme 8212; Jhilmil 99, presented by around 650 children of classes nursery to III, of the Sector 15 Bhavan Vidyalaya, here today. The chief guest on the occasion was R.P. Chander, Director, primary education, Haryana.

The programme started with a colourful and scintillating welcome song by the nursery class children, followed by a prize distribution ceremony. Then the K.G. class took over the stage, attired in dresses representing different professions like doctors, teachers, soldiers, sweepers and thers. The main idea behind this was to light the way values have changed in the society.

The programme concluded with an enthralling circus show by class I students, which was an altogether new concept. The enchanting music in the backdrop was very much appreciated by the audience.

The school principal, Shashi Banerjee, while speaking on the occasion, said the programme was kept on a low profile because of the lives lost in Kargil and the devastating cyclone in Orissa. She added that the credit for the function went to the teachers and students, who had worked ardously for the programme, and that too without taking any professional help.
