
CHANDIGARH, Oct 30: Chevrolet 1939 model and Baby Hindustan 1958 model were given the best performance award in vintage and classic categories in the First Vintage and Classic Car and Motorcycle Rally held here today. The Chevrolet was entered by Jaswant Singh, while Baby Hindustan by Rishi Bajaj.
In the motorcycle section, BSA-350 cc entered by Jaswinder Singh got the best performance award.
The rally which began from the CII Headquarters, finished at the Lake Club after passing through Panchkula and Hotel North Park.

Most elegant car classic: Sunbeam Talbot 1949 Beeya Vohra. Best couple costume: Ford-A 1928 Mr and Mrs Arjun Singh. Consolation prize: Hindustan 1954 Chander Prakash Malhotra.

SDC-32 win
Local SD College-32 cagers beat Government College, Ludhiana 70-55 in their last league match to win title in the Panjab University Inter-College men8217;s basketball championship at PU Campus today. Gurpreet Singh led SD-32 challenge and scored 26 points on rebound and free throw. Harkanwar 21 and Ravinder Singh 10 also contributed to the total.
For Ludhiana Amandeep Singh 17, Ajay Kumar 13 were the main scorers.
In another match DAV College-10 outplayed DAV College, Hoshiarpur 58-53 to win second place while third position went to GC Ludhiana. Nipinderjeet Singh 28 and Amanpreet Singh 14 netted for DAVC-10.
Basketball meet
The third Rao Jai Singh Memorial basketball tournament will begin here from tomorrow at the New Public School in Sector 18. In a three-day meet eight teams are participating in the meet and the matches will be played on league cum knock out basis.
