PUNE, Aug 6: In a major breakthrough in busting an international drug trafficking racket, the crime branch sleuths yesterday arrested the watchman of a Mangalwar Peth-based temple trust and seized 1.7 kg charas from him.During interrogation, watchman Krishnabahaddur Motiram Thakur (33) has disclosed his links with some persons indulging in smuggling narcotics from Nepal, inspector Surendra Patil said.Thakur, who has been working in Pune for six months, was arrested by a five-member team of crime branch sleuths led by sub-inspector Satish Govekar.The policemen found the charas concealed in a cotton handbag on the person of Thakur. Thakur claimed that his acquaintances had supplied the charas to him.
