20-yr-old commits suicide
PINJORE, January 13: Rajiv Sharma, a 20-year-old youth reportedly committed suicide by consuming a poisonous substance at his residence in HMT Colony, here this afternoon.
Police sources said that the youth was rushed to the PGI, Chandigarh where he breathed his last late in the afternoon. A relative said that Rajiv took the extreme step because he was tense over a small quarrel in the family.
One held for carrying liquor
PANCHKULA, JAN 13: The district police recovered 12 bottles of IMF liquor from the possession of a resident of Kaithal district, Sham Lal here today. He was nabbed when carrying liquor near the turning point of Mansa Devi, informed the police sources. The police have registered a case under Sections 6, 1 and 14 of the Excise Act against him, added the police sources.
