PM to expand ministry today
Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee will expand his 70-member strong ministry tomorrow, the exercise being necessitated primarily by the need to accommodate the Shiromani Akali Dal, which could not be included in the Government earlier because of its internal problems. Vajpayee is also likely to undertake a minor reshuffle. Surface Transport Minister Nitish Kumar is likely to be shifted to the agriculture ministry and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pramod Mahajan may be given additional charge of the new information technology portfolio.
