Man booked for cheatinghSunil Chopra, a resident of Sector 18, reported to the police that he was cheated to the tune of Rs 30,000 by Balwinder Singh Tochi, a resident of Sector 39 on the pretext of sending him abroad. The police have registered a case under Section 420 of the IPC.

Dowry harassment case registered
Satwinder Kaur, a resident of Sector 40-A, reported to the police that she was harassed by her husband Jaswinder Singh and in-laws for dowry. A case has been registered under Sections 498A and 406 of the IPC.

Five booked in assault cases
Naresh Kumar, a resident of Sector 46, reported to the police that he was assaulted by Ashawni, Vinod, Naresh and Kamal over a minor issue. The police have registered a case under Sections 325 and 34 of the IPC. While, Mani Kumar, a resident of Shanti Nagar in Manimajra reported to the police that he was assaulted by Sukhwinder Singh, a resident of the same area. The police have registered another case.

Scooterist booked
Pedestrain Prabhjit Singh, a resident of Sector 41, reported to the police that he was hit by an unknown scooter near the Sector 41 petrol pump. He added that the scooterist sped away after the accident. The police have registered a case of accident.

Ornaments stolen
Sukhdev Singh, a resident of Sector 30 reported to the police that someone stole Rs 21,000 cash and gold ornaments from his house. A case has been registered. In another incident, Rajbir Singh, a resident of Pipliwala town, reported to the police that gold and silver ornaments worth several thousands were stolen from his house. A case has been registered.
