
The Chhattisgarh High Court has dismissed a civil judge for misconduct and recommended compulsory retirement for another judge in the state. Civil Judge S L Chakradhari was dismissed after an inquiry ordered by the High Court established that he had abused a lawyer and a court employee under the influence of alcohol.
Registrar General H S Markam said Civil Judge Class II S L Chakradhari has been dismissed from service. 8220;The judge was dismissed after his conduct was found to be unbecoming of a sitting judicial officer. The inquiry was ordered after a complaint was lodged against him by court employee Jitendra Mahapatra and a lawyer, Ashok Jain, who had alleged that the judged had abused them in an inebriated condition,8221; Markam stated. At the time of the incident Chakradhari was posted in Dantewara and the complaint against him was filed jointly by Mahapatra and Jain.
The High Court also recommended compulsory retirement for Durg Additional District and Sessions Judge B R Nikunj after finding that he had been regularly granting bail to accused involved in heinous crimes.
