AUGUST 15: Cricket Club of India (CCI) scored a dramatic last-ball victory with their last pair, captain Mayank Khandwala and Abhijit Shetye guiding them home over Young Friends in the A’ Division of the Dr HD Kanga Cricket League at Brabourne Stadium on Sunday.

The sixth day was interrupted by rain late in the evening. The other teams to gain first innings points were Karnatak Sporting Association and MIG, Bandra. They defeated Victory and Khar Gymkhana respectively.

CCI were 127 for nine and chasing 129 for victory. Khandwala and Shetye needed three runs in last over but achieved victory with the final delivery.A five-wicket haul by medium-pacer Tabrej Kadri (5-17) helped Islam Gymkhana beat Dahisar SC by six wickets.

Another big haul, by Jagdhish Narvekar (6-12) was instrumental in Khandalas narrow victory over Young Comrade. Jogindra Vichares six wickets haul went in vain as Young Comrade lost by just two runs on the first innings.
