NEW DELHI, October 12: The Central Bureau of Investigation has not found any evidence to link former India captain Kapil Dev with the match-fixing and betting scandal that has rocked the cricketing world, the STAR News channel said on Thursday.The interim CBI report is ready and at least three or four players have been found involved in throwing matches for money, the channel said quoting unnamed sources.The CBI took five months to complete the probe into the scandal that broke during South Africa's tour to India in March this year.Kapil had been accused by former teammate Manoj Prabhakar of offering him Rs 25 lakh to under perform in a 1994 Singer Cup match against arch-rivals Pakistan in Sri Lanka. The match, however, was washed out. Kapil vehemently denied the charges. In an interview to BBC in May the cricket icon wept bitterly saying he would prefer death to dishonour.He unexpectedly resigned as National coach on September.
