KHARAR, Jan 10: The Rotary International will soon launched a country-wide Hepatitis-B eradication campaign on the pattern of Polio eradication campaign which had evoked an overwhelming response in the country, said Dr Gulshan K. Thakral, district Governor of the Rotary Club, who was on his annual visit to Kharar Rotary Club.

Talking to the mediapersons here on Thursday, Dr Thakral said the quot;Gift of Lifequot;, a project costing Rs 1 crore will provide corrective heart surgery free of cost to children below 18 years, who can ill-afford the huge expenses involved.

Earlier, at a small function organised by Kharar Rotary Club, Dr Thakral honoured four local students who excelled in different fields. He also distributed blankets to residents of slum colonies. The honoured students include Surinder Singh, Rachana Rajput, Anshuman Sharma and Manisha Sharma. President and Secretary of Kharar Rotary Club J. P. Dhiman and Harpreet Singh Rekhi, respectively, among other Rotarians, were also present on the occasion.
