Thank you, Indian Express, who has come out as a responsible newspaper in a country which is growing ignorant day by day. The murder of Satyendra Dubey for his honesty & sincerity has come as a shock for a person like me who has always believed that ‘Every black cloud has a silver lining.’ Inspite of all the tragedies and unfortunate incidents that I read daily in the paper, I always hope that at the end of the day there is a ray of light. But it seems that the ray of light has vanished into a thick black smoke and has promised never to return again.I am enraged and angry by this incident —this country itself produced a brilliant Indian in Dubey and killed a shining star . I hope that Indian Express and other concerned citizens will support and endure to go to the roots of this tragedy, provide support to his family & most of all justice be done, so that a ‘martyr’ like Dubey will be honoured for generations to come.

Wanted, a platform

Apropos Death of a whistleblower (Dec 8, The Indian Express). There are many who are committed to their principles but are insular . Internet connectivity will be very useful to integrate these islands of honesty .In future this will happen and politicians and other criminals will be brought to justice. I request to like minded people to come together and dissent the present sorry state of affairs. I believe in the credibility of the author of this article and expect her to take the cause further by writing further on issues of corruption . At the same time I also request her to influence people in the field of journalism to write more on issues of corruption . I feel that there should be a virtual platform for like-minded people and there should be access to its members , like every member should know each other . In the worst but one form of governance(democracy , as told by Aristotle) strength of numbers matter a lot . Also , there will be confidence among members that they are not alone (mind you , everybody cannot be as courageous as Dubeyji ) . In fact there should be a common fund to support members in distress. Also , this fund should be utilised for PIL’s and fight government or anyone who is a deviant .

Dear Singh

I hope The Indian Express gets this to your attention ( Aurangabad. When you go to the the Parliament to seek answers for the lapses made by Prime Minister Vajpayee’s office, could you please put couple questions from my side? I want to know why has the PM not fired the PMO staffer responsible for leaking the letter? ‘

Good job

Good that at least one MP care to bring this matter up to Parliament. The entire BJP top brass seems to be busy having sweets after the BJP victory in the Assembly polls.

Want to help

I appeal to the Express and any IIT alumni association to let readers know by publishing some address to which we may send any check to help Mr Dubeys family. If it is a permanent fund its resources can be used also to help future victims who stand up against corruption no matter in what ways they are victimised. If an honest group sets up such a fund it can be a source of help for fine human beings like Mr.Dubeyji. Please publish any address or website where we can send help. Thanks for keeping the issue alive and keep it up. I remember an ancient sanskrit saying: “Yesterday is a memory, tomorrow is a vision but today well-lived makes each yesterday a happy memory and each tomorrow a vision of hope”. Keep hope alive in tragic times like this.

House issue
Thank you Shyama Singh. Thank you for getting the subject up for discussion. In fact, addressing this issue should be the first job of the House. If Dubey was son of an MPs, all the parties would have stalled the winter session by now.

Focus on the probe

Late Sri Satyendra Dubey’s father’s skepticism reported in The Indian Express is totally justified. And knowing Bihar’s politics-mafia nexus, it will be a sheer waste of time in attempting to discuss this subject. Such is the extent of frustration that I feel nothing is going to come out! But I wish to make a suggestion which will take care of both the skepticism of saddened father of Dubey and the aforesaid nexus. Let the CBI be influenced (by public demand, petitions, letters to PM, CVC and other agencies that are prominent in this matter) to take the murder and sacking of D P Ojha, former DGP, Bihar.

His story

I congratulate the team of The Indian Express for their effort to keep this tragic issue in focus. Murder of Satyendra Dubey have brought to light once again our corrupt rulers and inefficient bureaucrats. PM of India and the CM of Bihar responded to the public demand of CBI inquiry in this case. A PIL has been filed in Supreme Court. Online petition to PM is growing by the day. Intellectuals have raised their voice with result. But it is shocking that the PM’s Office take the complaints that reach it in just a routine manner without informing the complainant where his complaint had been forwarded or what action would be taken. The PM should give more importance for e-governance in government offices of Centre and State Governments to eradicate corruption from India and the officer concerned should be held responsible if he /she does not reply the e-mail within seven days.

Time to wake up

This kind of barbarian acts like the killing of Dubey , close nexus between our politicians and contract companies and government officials to loot public money and corruption are the only things which make our progress sluggish. This is the time we should vow to weed out corruption completely from our country. Citizens like me feel helpless. Will the honest President and Prime Minister go that extra mile to put a full stop to such events in India and pave the way for us to reach the destination we deserve?
